What is Alpha?

The Alpha Course is a ten week opportunity to explore the validity and relevance of the Christian faith. It is a practical introduction to Christianity centered around a meal, a talk and small group discussion. Alpha changes lives, over 3.5 million people have taken the Alpha course in the US and Canada!

So welcome to the Alpha Course at Zarephath Christian Church. Important dates, schedules and contact info can all be found on this site. If you have any questions or need to communicate any information, let me know and I'll see to it that it gets posted. Things kick off with a Celebration Dinner on Wednesday Sept 24th at 7pm in the ZCC Dining room. The dinner is to celebrate with those who have completed the course this Fall as well as a preview for folks that are interested in taking the course this winter. Child care is provided for grades K-5. There is no charge for the meal, but donations are welcomed to cover the cost, so come with an appetite and be ready to explore.

Food & Fun

Alpha is not all work, in fact most of the time it is simply just fun. Sharing a casual meal and hanging out after a long day can be a time to relax and be yourself - no expectations or strings attached.

Building Friendships

Some of the closest long-lasting friendships have been built on the Alpha Course. Alpha friendships get beyond the standard "what is your name? and what do you do?" so you connect on a more personal level.

The Big Questions

Is there a God? Why am I here? Who is Jesus? What about other religions? Alpha tackles these and other questions each week. Chances are somebody in your group is wondering the same thing you are.

Real Problems

Life is full of tough times -- shaky employment, relationship struggles, kid trouble and illness. No matter what you are facing, Alpha is a place to ask why - with the freedom to share, or just sit back and listen.

Everyone is Invited

People come for different reasons. From different backgrounds and with different opinions - but at Alpha those differences only add to the conversation and often lead to greater understanding.

Zarephath Christian Church is located on the campus of Zarephath, off of Route 287 in Central New Jersey. Situated on over 500 acres, the campus is also the headquarters of Pillar of Fire International, Star 99.1fm, Somerset Christian College, Somerset Christian Academy.
